Our Japan Woodworker Brand chisels are hand-forged from a combination of soft and high carbon hard steels. The blades are individually tempered to Rockwell c62ø-63ø to ensure a long lived edge. These chisels will take and hold a very sharp edge which will stand up to the heaviest use. The handles are good quality Akagashi (Japanese Red Oak) and are double hooped to last a lifetime. Each Japan Woodworker Brand chisel comes well sharpened, with instructions for maintaining this edge.
