This knife is designed to fill the gap between the large drawknife and the micro drawknives. The forged handles are cupped to contour to the hands, with small forged finger hooks on the ends to ensure a positive grip. Blade length is 2" and blade length is 12".

North Bay Forge History

North Bay Forge operated by Jim Wester is located on Waldron Island in northwestern Washington. North Bay Forge tools are sold in Japan, where they are eagerly sought after by Japanese craftsmen. In fact, the attitude and care that Jim takes in the manufacture of his tools reminds me of our very best Japanese tool makers. Each North Bay Forge tool is individually hand forged from the best quality high carbon tool steel. The blade is then "cold work hardened" with hundreds of tiny hammer hits per square inch. This process relieves stress in the blade giving a more durable edge and remains visible on the surface of the finished tool. The next step is to differentially temper the blade so that the edge is hard and the backing steel is soft.
