The forged Thiers created by Gilles Reyneewaeter with forged spring and "mouche" (or top bolster plate), represents the "caravelle" the ship emblem of the city of Thiers since 1660.
In fact, the city of Thiers was a great merchant city, and other than cutlery, Thiers, made paper, sheets, "le busc", horn and firewood for the city Paris, and also was one of those special cities who had the right manufacture playing cards. To transport all these goods it was necessary to have cheap manner of transport. The "caravelle" was such, a boat, able to go up the system of locks and canals until Paris and throughout Europe.
The knife is entirely made by Thiers-Issard, in 12C27 stainless steel, and made out of precious woods.
