Regulation-size board made of naturally contrasting black walnut and maple squares. Hand sanding and a dull-gloss lacquer finish combine to create this large showpiece! Checker pieces sold separately below. Board measures 18" x 18".

Since 1893, the Berea College in Kentucky has been teaching the Student Crafts Program. They teach tradition and quality to almost 200 students and craft professionals. Berea's students- talented youth of limited financial means- work 10 to 20 hours per week in lieu of tuition. Over 80 per cent of Berea's students come from the surrounding nine - state Appalachian region.
